This is a visualization meditation. It makes you present, calls on your highest spirit, keeps you humble and effective on your new ventures, and attracts opportunities for prosperity.
“Isht means God – defined experienced God. Sodhana generally means to purify, but here it also means the God purification. Sodhana also means to straighten out. That is the gross meaning of it, that’s why I am trying to clarify for you: isht, sodhana kriya: One which purifies the God.” Siri Singh Sahib
Posture: Sit with a straight spine, then feel that you are sitting on the earth and your head is in the ether.
Eyes: Closed or 1/10 open.
Visualization: “Think of your head from your eyebrows and above in blue ether. From your waistline down it is in gray color. Now these are the three sounds. First is the ground: Dharthi. When the word Dharthi comes, imagine the gray color. And when we say Akash imagine a dark, deep, beautiful blue color, royal blue. And when we say Guru Ram Das Hai, bring the meditation to your heart center and imagine white light. Not the color white. Not sun white, sun white is golden. White-white light. Let us meditate correctly on this… It is very essential for you to get these colors. Khalsa – for that purity – your mind must obey you, you don’t obey your mind.” Siri Singh Sahib
Chant: Dharthi hai, Akash hai, Guru Ram Das hai
Comments: “It is a perfect mantra. It is an ashtang mantra. It has eight vibratory imprint effects. It has a naad which is perfect. Don’t go to the literary meaning of it; when you burn a candle the darkness goes. But if you bring your mind with it, when we say Dharthi hai then imagine vast gray. And when we say Akash hai, see royal blue on the top. And when we say Guru Ram Das hai, a tremendous white at the center. This will give you the power to know your past, present and future and whatever a person anywhere has to think, say and do, you will know it beforehand. You will know what causes him to think – that much power, that much edge you can have. The underworld, the world and the world of God shall serve that individual who can perfect this. This is isht sodhani. Its power is that it allows the person to penetrate the entire cosmos with the very simple language of words. Prayers become effective. Therefore you can chant it any amount of time, there is no limit.
To share this knowledge is to bring God in essence. What more can be said? …My dear children, who knows how many days we will be together. But whenever you experience this knowledge it will make you together.” Siri Singh Sahib
Time of Day: “If you ever want to practice this mantra for a siddhi (mastery) for forty days this can never be practiced in the morning. Its time is evening, remember that. If you ever decide to perfect this you can’t do it in the morning. You can chant in the morning, or any time of day, fine. But when you do the personal practice to get the essence you have to do it in the evening and the best time is the sunset.” Siri Singh Sahib
Suggested Duration: Chant this mantra for 11 or 31 minutes
