2012 will be a year of historic change. It is the end of the Mayan calendar, and therefore the beginning of a new year and a new world. We have just entered into the Age of Aquarius as per our beloved teacher, Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh. How is this playing out astrologically?
Looking at the New Year’s chart several aspects stand out. Pluto is conjunct the Sun, and is squaring Uranus. Jupiter and Saturn are in opposition. Neptune is poised to enter the sign of Pisces where it can work changes on the spirituality of the planet. The outer planets are generational and they are also involved in major world changes. Let’s break these down to see what has happened with these aspects, and therefore what may happen.
Looking at the Pluto/Uranus square, which will happen seven times in the next three years, brings to mind the beginning of the Pluto/Uranus cycle which began with the conjunction during 1964-1967. This was a time of unrest, when the people spoke. We see similarities with the Occupy Wall Street movement and the unrest of the 99%. While the original conjunction was in Virgo, in 2012, Pluto has moved to Capricorn, and Uranus to Aries. The tenor of this square is stronger. Capricorn represents structures, be it governments, or your own skeleton. Pluto is the cosmic roto-rooter and it weeds out all that is not necessary, and in doing so will make things stronger but not without destruction if necessary. Aries, the sign of the ram, is the warrior. He is a strong and fearless leader, who will go to war if necessary. So this unrest, which began 45 years ago, is being tested again, and what began then will continue now.
Later in the year, (October) Saturn will go into Scorpio, Pluto’s sign, and Pluto will be in Saturn’s sign. This will further increase the strength of both of these planets. Hopefully they will work together to build up our government to serve the people, but if government is not willing to let go of those things that do not work, then it will not be a smooth change, but one with hardships. With these aspects, change there must be. What doesn’t work will fall, and a new structure will arise.
Jupiter and Saturn are the expansion and contraction principles respectively. In opposition, they must come to a balance. This cycle began in 1992, with the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction, the time in which Siri Singh Sahib Ji proclaimed the introduction to the Aquarian Age. It was when he gave us the Aquarian sadhana, which is bringing us into this age. It is the time to balance extremes, learn to live and love your enemies and friends both equally. Community must work in order for us to go into this age and survive. People will come as the Siri Singh Sahib said they would, and we must meet them as strong Khalsa.
Neptune, which is the principle of spirituality, moves into its own sign of Pisces. The last time he was there was in 1845-1861, which began the spiritual movement. This gives us the ability to use the spirit, and for the movement to spread to the masses as we learn to live in peace and harmony. Those who embrace the spirit will thrive.
When there is this much energy in the outer planets, world changes are coming. As we get ready for this transformation, we need to call on our individual energies to keep strong and keep up and move with grace and strength into the coming Age.
