Guru Raj Kaur describes: “The vision was crystal clear. Standing on the patio of Dashmesh Sudan in January 2005 for Siri Singh Sahib ji’s ashes ceremony, I was deeply moved by that place and felt him there, as if he were sitting in a big chair feeling us all gathering, deeply content. I suddenly felt in a flash his vision for us, coming there to teach and learn, the great merger of East and West, I felt the great power of MPA and our children and the impact they have had on the psyche of India, and India on them. He always said we would go back to India and teach.
Merger, bowing, deep gratitude.
I instantly thought at that moment, “Okay, I’ll do my little part.” I felt my Ajna, my Third Eye lock into the manifestation of this vision. I felt myself picking up the sword. I felt the Khalsa women of the West, and the Khalsa women of India. I knew we had to bow on this land, feel this land, bow in gratitude to Guru Gobind Singh, to all the great warriors, all the men and women, whose courage whose blood soaked into this land. Whose vision obliterated all doubt.”
We knew we had to bring the great spirit of the Khalsa women of the west and merge these two, infuse the Khalsa women of the West with the spirit of this land, and in our own small way, ignite the Khalsa women of India, offering ourselves in gratitude for what we have been given, what we have become.
Bow our heads, and rise with the energy of the sword!
So much of what we all do in this dharma to bring forth the consciousness, the great legacy of Guru Gobind Singh, is under the radar, day by day, surrender by surrender, moving the ethers. That is true also of our Khalsa Ladies Camp in Vancouver for the last 20 years. It is an intentional gathering of women to bring forth the spirit of Adi Shakti in all of her facets. The women would often say: I need a KLC in between Camps! So, the remedy was to have a KLC in India during February/March.
THE VISION has been for women from around the world, different walks of life, and young women from MPA to gather for this yatra experience. We continue to bring ladies to Anandpur Sahib, to Dashmesh Sudan. Now in 2012, our 5th yatra, we carry forward Siri Singh Sahib ji’s vision of a place where we can experience how the Subtle and Radiant Bodies are activated, and become the norm. It is like entering a place beyond Time and Space. Seeing before you the hills in which Guru Gobind Singh and his Khalsa rode and lived. Breathing the same air……You can feel the echo of his energy….
AMRITSAR: We begin our journey at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. We bow, immerse ourselves in the healing space of Guru Ram Das… sacred music, meditation, dipping in the sacred healing waters. Our first meeting in Amritsar is sublime! Hearts bow one by one as each woman arrives through one of the four gates of the Golden Temple. Bathing in the sweet sound current and healing waters, we begin! For four days, we lose ourselves in the ambrosial hours at the Golden Temple. Seva of washing the marble floors of the perkarma, followed by the trumpets heralding Prakash of the Guru! This crack of dawn, light of the holy Naam, awakening of the Guru, begins the chanting and simran for the day. By the time the afternoon comes around, we are ready for the narrow streets of old Amritsar; shopping and wandering through these well-traveled paths, includes much laughter and delight as the day to day life of India unfolds. Undoubtedly, a Baba Siri Chand temple is just around a corner, and the chanting, meditations and story telling begin again. Each Yatra has been uniquely it’s own, as stories of the mystical lives of each Guru come to life.
ANANDPUR SAHIB: The Yatra moves on to Anandpur Sahib, birthplace of the Khalsa … and Dashmesh Sudan, home of Yogi Bhajan, where we pay homage to his Vision. Here, KLC takes up residence with Aquarian Sadhana, Kundalini Yoga, and Gatka to begin each day! In the afternoon we meditate in the long ago fields of Guru Gobind Singh in the foothills of the Himalayas, watching hawks fly overhead and guide our journey on. We gather with the village women of Anandpur to greet one another with Kirtan and chanting. Each year the journey takes us on new adventures and new people, villages, stories, Gurdwaras, Temples and experiences unfold! We visit the wells and forts where against impossible odds, the spirit of victory and cherdi kala prevailed! Often these victories were led by women, including Mai Bhago and her band of forty liberated ones.
TRIVANDRUM: Then we travel down to the tip of Southern India—“original” India—to an Ayurvedic Healing Resort alongside the ocean in succulent forest of palm trees, hibiscus, mangoes, and jasmine… Warm. . . the rhythm of life slower, with a soothing flow, hearing the waves, relaxing. Daily Ayurvedic healing treatments, pure food…. hammock swings… slowly, we let go of stress, gently connect to our healed, natural self. In the Lap of Mother India….
The Ladies have described this Yatra as a journey of the soul much like a Kundalini Yoga Class. The Golden Temple is the meditation, the time in Anandpur is the Kriya, and in Trivandrum is the deep relaxation! Every step is precious and every heart is awakened on this journey, this magical time of awakening, this Yatra.
Yes, come with us…….!
