Siri Sevak Kaur Khalsa moved to Millis on Thanksgiving Day, 2005 – and we’ve been giving thanks ever since. She continues to live up to her name in service to both the Gurdwara and Yoga Center – as well as by being a friend to all.
She has served as Secretary to the Gurdwara – coordinating communications; scheduling programs, Akhand Paths and weddings; overseeing the seva schedule; and offering kirtan regularly. She teaches the children about Sikh Dharma and Gurmukhi on Sundays after Gurdwara. She teaches Gurmukhi in person or via teleconferencing. She has taken on several beautification and improvement projects for the Gurdwara – including installing new closet systems with a donation she made in honor of her mother’s memory.
As a professional Kundalini Yoga Trainer with level 2 certification, she is a core asset to our teacher training programs, regular classes and workshops. She serves on the Baba Siri Chand Yoga Center team helping to organize seva, meals, and other aspects of our workshops and trainings. Her yogic habits and steady strength are an inspiration to both aspiring and aging yogis.
Best of all, she is as true as her word. Her honesty and sincerity make her a trusted friend and confidante. Her wisdom is of the understated, matter-of-fact variety – part of the complete “package” of any true sevadar. If you look in the Akashic Dictionary for “Great Sevadar,” you will find her picture there.
