“Oh Guru Ram Das, thank you for this beautiful day…” ~ I first met you at a Kundalini Yoga class in ‘70 when we sang to you in this way. Three years passed and you sent me to sing at your nectar tank in Amritsar. Though dry, the tank was filled with the delight of your lovers coming to wash out your healing pool.
“Ik Ardas Bhaat kee rat kee……” ~ I see that the most exalted path is the Guru’s congregation.
We learn that “Jo mangeh taakur apanay te…..” ~ the prayer of your devotee is fulfilled. I fell in love with the brilliance of your house and the love of your congregation.
“Ditay sabay Taav nahee tudh jay-hay-aa…” I have seen all places but none compares to your Golden Temple and the multitudes of devotees that sit together in the sparkling exquisite resonance of your name being chanted at Ram Das Pur….. and you dwell within my heart.
“Ram Das Sarovar Naatay…..” ~ bathing in the tank of Ram Das all sins and misdeeds are washed away as I dip into your dark waters in the last hours of the night there AND at home.
“Chojee mayray Gobindaa, choojee mayray piaareeaa…” ~ Oh so playful my Beloved, you bring me to your Ashram, Los Angeles for a stay, as a wife, a Mom and a Guru Granthi for many a day.
‘Close your eyes it’s the end of another busy day….’ ~ the song that so many of us sing to lull our babies to sleep. Our families grow and flourish in your love.
“Har Bolo meray Bhaa-ee…” ~ O dear siblings, when someone meets You, their mind becomes centered and the 5 passions running wildly are brought to rest by meditating upon you. Your community grows and spreads across the world.
“Raj Jog Tahkat dhayaan…” ~ you are the Raaj Yogi and you blessed us with voice of the master, Yogi ji at Kundalini Yoga class, Tantric Yoga, lectures and our own Gurdwaras.
At Khalsa Womens’ Training Camp we follow your example of “Gur Satgur Ka jo Sikh akaa-ay..” ~ I treasure the nectar hour when all your saints come to pray. Walking through camp singing these words to the sleeping ladies before the coming of the light is a pure delight.
“Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur…” ~ for 2 ½ hours daily for 730 days ‘the Lord of Miracles takes me to New York to serve your Big Apple mission.
“Mera Man Loche Gur Darshan Taa-ee…” ~ longing for your company I sing these words and you bestow a gift of many kirtan CD’s to share your love and blessings.
The times and the Age’s are ‘a- changing’ and we reach 2000. Through your “Kundalini Surjee Sat Sangat..” ~ we cross over the terrible ocean of the world in the blink of an eye as the kundalini rises in the true congregation through your shabd!
“Samrat Guru sir hath dhaa-ree-o..”~ The all powerful Guru placed His Hand on my brow and blessed me with peace. Because in this world’s age “Saa dharatee bha-ee haree aavalee..”~ the land where my True Guru sits becomes green & fertile.
